Anders Wang, an 8th grader at the Davidson Academy was featured in Alliance of Therapy Dogs‘ fall/winter 2024 edition of their newsmagazine.
Anders was featured with his therapy dog Riesen who he volunteers with in the “Paws 4 Passengers” program at the Reno Tahoe Airport. Anders is just 12 years old but was granted an airport security badge making him the youngest person to be granted a security clearance at the airport.
When in school, Anders can be seen walking around the hallways or sitting in class with either Riesen or another therapy or guide dog-in-training at his side.
“The dog’s presence at the academy is fully supported by the school administration and the teachers. This is an important piece of the puppy’s training and socialization process. Anders handles this responsibility all on his own.”
