Davidson Academy Student Yajur Chandar is receiving recognition for his knowledge of science.
Yajur was awarded first place in the high school Medicine and Health Division at the Beal Bank USA Southern Nevada Regional Science & Engineering Fair. He was also awarded first place overall for all high schoolers and was invited to participate in the International Science Fair in Columbus, OH in May.
His accomplishments do not stop there, however.
Yajur was named a semifinalist in the United States Biolympiad (USABO) competition. The USABO is regarded as “the premier biology competition for high school students in the United States.” He hopes to be named a finalist and attend the National Finals in the summer.
Additionally, Yajur was named a Carson Scholar because he “demonstrates the highest standards of academic achievement, integrity, and civic and social responsibility.” For this recognition, Yajur will receive a $1,000 scholarship, a medal, and a certificate.
Not to be outdone by his previous accomplishments, Yajur has been selected to participate in the distinguished 2025 MIT Research Science Institute (RSI) program this summer. This exceptional opportunity will allow him to engage in innovative STEM research and collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the field.
